AMD’s Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 3 CPUs will release in Q2 and 2H 2017
Looking at the slides above we can see that AMD is aiming their R5 series of CPUs at Intel’s i5 series of CPUs, likely coming with similar pricing. This will allow AMD to offer a lot more performance at that price point, provided that users use highly threaded applications.
This staggered launch will give AMD more time to promote their upcoming 8-core Ryzen models and give the company a chance to give their lower-end models a bigger spotlight when they release later in the year.
AMD’s Ryzen 5 series of 6-core CPUs will release in Q2 2017 (April-June) and their Ryzen 3 series of quad-core CPUs will release in 2H 2017 (the second half of 2017).
