It now looks like AMD will releasing non-X variants of their upcoming Threadripper series CPUs, which will come with lower TDPs and clock speeds than their X-series counterparts.

In motherboard support listing from ASRock, Gigabyte and ASUS, a new 12-core model called the Threadripper 1920 has been listed, coming with a 140W TDP and base/boost clock speeds of 3.2GHz and 3.8GHz. Since this discovery, ASUS has since removed the CPU from their CPU support listing for their X399 Zenith Extreme motherboard.

This new CPU model is likely to release within the next few months with a price that we expect to be around £699 or £749.

Gigabyte’s Aorus listing also shows that the Threadripper 1920 non-X will also come with the same amount of cache as the 1920X, which means that only XFR support and clock speeds change with this new model.
