ASRock has now revealed their new H110-STX MXM motherboard, which allows users to use both MXM (type-b) GPUs and Kaby Lake CPUs in an amazingly small form factor.

While MXM GPUs are typically only available to system integrators, this motherboard does still offer users with a great deal of potential for small form factor gaming PCs, with this unit being usable with up to a 120W GPU and a 91W CPU, allowing this motherboard to support a 7700K and up to a GTX 1060 GPU.

The STX form factor is designed to be used with external power bricks, with this board coming with a 220W power brick. On this unit, we can also see dual 4-pin PWM fan headers, two DDR4 SO-DIMM slots and support for RGB lighting.

When it comes to connectivity this motherboard supports a single 32 Gb/s M.2 port on the bottom of the motherboard and comes with two HDMI ports and a single DisplayPort. This motherboard will also come with two USB 3.0 ports,4 USB 2.0 ports and a thunderbolt 3 connection.

One of this board’s HDMI connections will use your CPU’s integrated GPU, while the other HDMI and Displayport connection will use the board’s MXM GPU.

Right now it is unknown what ASROCK will be using this product for, though it will likely be used in a wide range of small form factor VR-ready gaming systems. The only major problem with this unit is the lack of MXM GPUs on the consumer market, allowing this motherboard to only be used by system integrators, though that may change over time.
