ASUS’ ROG X399 Zenith Extreme Threadripper motherboard has been pictured, coming with a colossal CPU socket and a large number of unique features.

Threadripper offers some insane levels of CPU performance, offering quad channel memory support, 64 PCIe 3.0 lanes and CPUs with up to 16/32 CPU cores/threads. This motherboard uses AMD’s X399 chipset and allows users to utilise up to three M.2 SSDs with this motherboard allowing users to utilise two of these new SSD’s using ASUS’ low latency DIMM.2 system and one using a traditional onboard slot that is under this motherboard’s chipset heatsink.

With the Zenith Extreme, ASUS will be using the same power solution as their X299 Rampage VI Extreme motherboard while also utilising a fan cooled finned heatsink that is under the board’s IO shield for additional cooling potential while overclocking. This fan will only turn on when the system is under heavy thermal loads, making it silent at idle.

This motherboard will be bundled with a 10GB Ethernet card, which will also support intermediate standards like 5GB and 2.5GB, ensuring that users of this board have a premium networking experience regardless of how they upgrade.

The Zenith will also come with a small OLED display on the board’s IO cover, which can be used to play small animated gifs, display static images or text and even report CPU temperatures and clock speeds.

AMD is expected to reveal more information on Threadripper tonight at their Computex Press Conference live event, which means that we should know the clock speeds and pricing of AMD’s upcoming X399 products soon.
