ASUS confirms 96-core Ryzen Threadripper 9000 series Zen 5 CPUs
ASUS Pro WS TRX50-SAGE motherboard listing reveals Zen 5 Ryzen Threadripper CPUs “up to 96-cores”
As part of an updated listing for ASUS’ Pro WS TRX50-SAGE WIFI motherboard (via @momomo_us and Videocardz) the company has revealed the existence of AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper 9000 series processors. These new Zen 5 Threadripper CPUs will reportedly feature “up to 96 cores” and be available in both “Threadripper 9000” and “Threadripper PRO 9000” forms.
This listing was uncovered shortly after Gigabyte released its ” next-gen CPU” update for its TRX50-series motherboards. This acts as further confirmation that the release of new Ryzen Threadripper series CPUs is imminent.
Currently, AMD is expected to reveal its Ryzen Threadripper 9000 series processors at Computex 2025. With their move to Zen 5, AMD’s new TRX50 CPUs should be highly sought after by high-end customers. With their new 9000-series Threadripper CPUs, users will benefit from AMD’s new Math Acceleration Unit, its full AVX-512 datapath, and increased cache bandwidth. Zen 5 also features AI acceleration features, which would be useful for modern users.

Threadripper has been dominant within this ultra-high-end CPU space for many years now. With Threadripper 9000, AMD will be giving developers the benefits of their newest CPU architecture and increased power efficiency. It may be a simple Zen 4 to Zen 5 upgrade, but Zen 5 has a lot of give to high-end users.
