ASUS lists support for unannounced 2400GE and 2200GE APUs – Low Power Raven Ridge

AMD has officially launched their new Raven Ridge platform, offering new Ryzen CPUs both higher stock clock speeds, improved core boost technology and a powerful Vega integrated graphics unit.

This new series launches with AMD’s Ryzen 3 2200G and Ryzen 5 2400G, but now it looks like AMD has more Ryzen APUs on the horizon, with ASUS listing E-series variants of these new APUs that offer lower power operation. These new low-power APUs are the Ryzen 3 2200GE and the Ryzen 5 2400GE, delivering the same basic specifications as their non-E series counterparts but with lower core clock speeds and a lower 35W TDP.

Right now only the core clock speeds of these new APUs are known, with the Ryzen 3 2200GE offering a core clock speed of 3.2 GHz while the Ryzen 5 2400GE also offers core clock speeds of 3.2 GHz, clock speed reduction of 300MHz and 400MHz when compared to their non-E counterparts respectively.

These new E-series units are expected to ship with lower prices than their high-performance counterparts, though at this time AMD has not officially revealed either of these new low-power APUs.
