ASUS teases upgraded “NEO” series motherboards for AMD/AM5

ASUS teases new ROG, TUF Gaming, and ProArt motherboards ahead of CES 2026

ASUS has begun teasing a new range of “NEO” motherboards ahead of CES 2026. Based on the teaser below, ASUS plans to use its NEO branding for new ROG, TUF Gaming, and ProArt motherboard models. The teaser also showcases AMD’s AM5 socket, implying that all of these motherboards are AMD 800-series designs.

So far, it is unknown what these new motherboards will deliver. Perhaps this new range will see ASUS distribute its “NitroPath” DRAM tech more widely. NitroPath uses custom DIMM slots to deliver higher signal integrity. By reducing noise, NitroPath enables higher memory speeds.

With these motherboards, we expect ASUS to use a larger 64MB BIOS ROM to store more data and support additional BIOS features. Furthermore, we expect incremental design improvements to ASUS’ motherboard heatsinks, power delivery systems, and EZ DIY features.

AMD’s AM5 motherboards are expected to support the company’s next-generation Zen 6 CPUs. At CES, AMD is also expected to officially unveil its often-leaked Ryzen 7 9850X3D gaming CPU. This makes CES a great time for ASUS to update its AM5 motherboard range. That said, this may imply that AMD may stick to its 800-series chipset for Zen 6.
