Intel’s upcoming Z370 “Coffee Lake” CPUs are expected to release in early October, leaving many PC enthusiasts curious about how much these new CPUs will cost at retailers.

Pricing for these new CPUs has been listed by the retailer LambdaTek, revealing pricing that is higher than Intel’s existing 7th generation i7, i5 and i3 K-series equivalents.

Below is the pricing that has been listed by LambdaTek, as well as the prices of their K-series 7th Generation Kaby Lake equivalents. At this time it is unknown whether or not this represents Intel’s final pricing of these are just placeholder values.

Intel 8th Generation Z370 Coffee Lake CPUs

– Core i3-8350K £174.35 (4 cores, 4 threads)
– Core i5-8600K £250.50 (6 cores, 6 threads)
– Core i7-8700K £353.86 (6 cores, 12 Threads)

Intel 7th Generation Z270 Kaby Lake CPUs

– Core i3-7350K £135.05 (2 cores, 4 threads)
– Core i5-7600K £213.18 (4 cores, 4 threads)
– Core i7-7700K £310.58 (4 cores, 8 Threads)

If these prices are correct, Intel is offering their 6-core, 12-thread i7 8700K with pricing that is slightly higher than their 6-core, 12-thread i7 7800X, which makes sense given the fact that the 8700K is expected to feature higher base/boost clock speeds, especially in single-threaded workloads.

If all of these pricing leaks hold true, Intel’s 8th generation of CPUs will be more expensive than their 7th generation counterparts but will come with increased core counts which at the end of the day should provide consumers with more value.

Only time will tell how Intel’s 8th generation of CPUs will compete with AMD’s Ryzen series of CPUs, especially given the fact that AMD already offers 8-core CPUs for under £300.
