The overclocker der8auer has achieved a 5.8GHz overclock on AMD’s new Ryzen 7 1800X using ASUS’ CrossHair VI Hero motherboard using LN2 (Liquid Nitrogen) cooling.

This overclock was achieved with a multiplier of 130.4 and a multiplier of 44.5, confirming that AMD’s Ryzen CPUs do support bus speed overclocking, which is a feature that is currently missing from some AMD AM4 motherboards.

These are the early days of Ryzen overclocking, with our own overclocked results coming with less than 48 hours with the CPU and with early motherboard BIOS releases. In time with BIOS updates and extensive tweaking we hope to produce an AMD Ryzen overclocking guide,

In time with BIOS updates and extensive tweaking, we hope to produce an AMD Ryzen overclocking guide, which should help consumers achieve the best performance out of their CPUs. This will take some time so please bear with us as we work with Ryzen on additional motherboards and with more mature BIOS releases.
