Gigabyte Launch X170 and X150 motherboards for Intel Skylake Xeon CPUs with ECC memory support. These motherboards are based upon Intel’s C236 and C232 chipsets, but have been renamed to X170 and X150 in order to attract gamers to the platform.Â
For many years a lot of gamers have purchased XEON CPUs instead of their desktop equivalents in an effort to save money, losing out on Intel’s integrated graphics and higher clocks speeds and overclockability to fit a new Intel CPU into their budget.Â
Â
Â
These motherboards support ECC memory (Error-correcting code) allowing them to eliminate small data discrepancies and prevent data corruption for increased reliability and helping to reduce system crashes.
All of these motherboards feature a new military desert camo styling, trying to focus the users on the motherboard “military grade reliability”. Â
Â
These motherboard are very similar feature set to their Z170 and B150 equivalents, offering M.2 support, SATA Express support and even USB 3.1. Â
