Intel’s Coffee Lake i3 lineup leaks
Intel’s Coffee Lake i3 lineup leaks
 Â
While we are unlikely to see Coffee Lake on desktop platforms until late Q3 or Q4, it is becoming increasingly likely that Intel will be increasing the core counts of their upcoming i3, i5 and i7 series CPUs, making Coffee Lake one of Intel’s most competitive desktop offerings to date.Â
Now detailed specifications for Intel’s upcoming Coffee Lake i3 lineup has been revealed, offering 4 cores and 4 threads and clock speeds of up to 4GHz. These CPUs will lack boost clocks speeds and come with TDPs of between 65W and 91W. Â
All of these CPUs will support Dual-channel 2400MHz DDR4 memory out of the box, with the  i3 8100 sporting 6MB of shared L3 cache while the higher end i3 8300 and 8350K offer a total of 8MB of L3 cache. With this generation, Intel’s i3 CPUs will not be hyperthreaded, which means that i3’s thread count will still be four, though the core count boost will certainly deliver huge performance gains in multi-threaded applications.Â
The i3 8350K will be the only overclockable CPU in the range, which means that this i3 will likely overclock to around 5GHz like Intel’s current-generation Kaby-Lake offerings or perhaps higher.Â
While a lot of this i3 specifications have been leaked previously, additional sources of this information do add greatly to its potential legitimacy, making these leaks seem much more likely to be true.Â
