New Ryzen X3D CPU Spotted for AM4 – Meet the Ryzen 5 5500X3D

AMD appears to be prepping an affordable new X3D CPU for socket AM4

Thanks to @KOMACHI_ENSAKA over on X, we now know about AMD’s planned Ryzen 5 5500X3D CPU. That’s right, it looks like AMD is planning to release more new AM4 processors. This time, we have what could be a new budget gaming king, with six cores and AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology.

This new CPU appears to be a more affordable version of AMD’s previously released Ryzen 5 5600X3D CPUs. We expect AMD’s new 5500X3D model to feature six Zen 3 CPU cores. We also expect this CPU to feature lower clock speeds and a lower price tag than the 5600X3D had at launch. Currently, it is unknown how readily available this new processor will be.

Like AMD’s other Zen 3 V-Cache enhanced CPUs, we expect this new model to feature 96MB of L3 cache. This cache size is hugely beneficial for many gaming workloads. This makes AMD’s Ryzen 5 5500X3D a potential gaming monster for the budget CPU market. That said, it remains to be seen how much this CPU will cost.

AMD’s new Ryzen 5 X3D model needs an aggressive price. Currently, AMD’s Ryzen 7 5700X3D is available for £188 in the UK. This makes it to go-to CPU for gamers on AMD’s AM4 CPU platform. The 5500X3D needs to have a much lower price to offer gamers good value. Furthermore, it needs to be readily available at retailers.
