Nova Lake When? – Intel Nova Lake release schedule leaks

Intel’s BIG Nova Lake CPUs may launch a lot later than expected

Intel’s Core Ultra Series 4 (Core Ultra 400) CPU release schedule has leaked, confirming that Intel’s next-generation Nova Lake CPUs could launch as early as January 2027. However, Intel’s launch plans are staggered, with CPU launches throughout the year, with the last between May and September 2027.

A leaked logo for Intel’s new CPUs confirms their Core Ultra Series 4 branding. That said, Intel’s CPU branding will change this generation. Alongside overclockable K-series CPUs, Intel will be releasing new “DS” series models. It is currently unknown what Intel’s “DS” CPUs are. Will DS series CPUs feature Intel’s big Last Level Cache (bLLC) tech?

Start big, end bigger!

Intel’s first Nova Lake CPU, a 28-core DS-series CPU, is due to launch between January and March 2027. Next up is a 28-core K-series CPU, which is due in March or April. Then there are 16-core and 8-core CPUs due in March-May 2027.

Intel’s HUGE 52-core Nova Lake flagship will arrive much later, arriving in May-September 2027. This CPU will also be a DS-series CPU. This CPU will feature two compute chiplets, almost doubling Intel’s maximum CPU core count.

Nova Lake July 2025 roadmap

  • NVL-S 28C DS: Q1 2027, late January to March 2027
  • NVL-S 28C K: Q2 2027, March to April 2027
  • NVL-S 16C and 8C: Q2 2027, late March to May 2027
  • NVL-S 52C DS: Late May to September 2027

Intel’s 28-core Nova Lake CPUs feature eight P-cores, sixteen E-cores, and four LP-E cores. The P-cores and E-cores are on Intel’s compute chiplet, while their LP E-cores are on their IO chiplet. Intel’s 52-core model has two compute chiplets, giving it an extra eight P-cores and sixteen E-cores.

2027 will be a big year for Intel. Nova Lake promises to deliver much higher CPU core counts, an AMD X3D competitor, and a greatly improved architecture over Arrow Lake. Will that be enough to combat AMD’s Zen 6 CPUs?
