Overclockers boost AMD’s Ryzen 5 2600X and Ryzen 7 2700X to over 5.8GHz under LN2
With AMD’s first generation of Ryzen 7 processors, the world record clock speed sits at 5803MHz, on a Ryzen 7 1800X with the record Ryzen 5 1600X clock speed coming in at 5905MHz, both of which are now set to be surpassed thanks to the introduction of Ryzen 2nd Generation processors.Â
Even before the official launch of 2nd Gen Ryzen, some overclockers have already gotten their hands on CPUs and X470 motherboards, aiming to achieve record-breaking performance before these new processors become available to consumers, with the overclocker “TSAIK” leading the charge.Â
So far this overclocker has already achieved clock speeds of 5882.97Mhz on a Ryzen 5 2600X, sitting 22Mhz shy of the Ryzen world record, a great showing from Ryzen 2 this early in the game on MSI’s X470 Gaming PLUS motherboard.Â
 Â
TSAIK has already surpassed the world’s top Ryzen 7 overclock, exceeding the 5803MHz clock speed achieved on a Ryzen 7 1800X to achieve 5884.24MHz on a Ryzen 7 2700X. In time higher overclockers a likely to appear on HWBOT, as more overclockers gain access to CPUs and premium X470 motherboards.Â
This record Ryzen 7 overclock was achieved on an MSIÂ X470 Gaming M7 AC motherboard.Â
Both of these overclocked system used single-channel DDR4 memory and are focused on producing the highest clock speeds possible under Liquid Nitrogen cooling, making these clock speeds unachievable by normal system builders. We will discuss Ryzen 2nd Gen’s real-world performance and overclockability on April 19th, when these CPUs officially become available for purchase.  Â
