Images have leaked online showcasing what appears to be an NZXT motherboard called the N7 Z370, an Intel Coffee Lake motherboard that has been pictured with several colour different options.

These images new images come from Videocardz, though it must be noted that this motherboard has appeared before in promotional images and videos for NZXT’s H700i chassis. At this time it is unknown whether or not NZXT plans to enter the motherboard market, as it is more likely that NZXT has created these renders for internal use.

In the video below we can see what appears to be a working version of this motherboard, as power is going to the system’s memory DIMMs. This is no indication that NZXT will be entering the motherboard market, though at a minimum it showcases an interest in doing so.

New image leaks showcase internal renders for this motherboard design, showing what appears to be removable coloured components over the board’s VRM and chipset heatsinks, with a plastic shell covering the majority of the motherboard, even its dual M.2 SSD slots.

This design will have a lot of negative consequences when it comes to airflow, though it is clear that this motherboard is designed with aesthetics in mind, not thermal performance.

The most exciting aspect of this motherboard design is its ability to have plastic components switched out to match a user’s desired aesthetic, whether it be black and purple, red and blue or any other colour combination. This is a huge breath of fresh air in a world where motherboards have become mostly monochrome with RGB-based illumination.

Hardware wise we can see what appears to be an LGA 1151 socket, dual M.2 slots, two PCIe 16x long lanes, two PCIe 4x long lanes and a single PCIe 1x lane. On the rear I/O we see most standard inputs and outputs, and even what appears to be a BIOS reset switch.

At this time it is unknown whether or not these designs will ever result in a full consumer product, though it would be nice to see something with a similar design hit the market, giving an alternative option for those that want uncommon colour schemes for their PCs and despise the concept of RGB lighting.
