The King Returns! – AMD re-launches its Ryzen 7 CPU 5800X3D at Computex

A high asking price, but it is cheaper than building an entirely new system

It’s official, AMD relaunched its Ryzen 7 5800X3D gaming CPU at Computex 2026. On June 25th, AMD’s AM4 gaming king will be returning to the CPU market. This gives AMD users with DDR4 system an excellent upgrade option that doesn’t require an investment into expensive DDR5 DRAM.

While AMD’s asking price is high for this revived CPU, $349 is $100 less than its original MSRP. Furthermore, it is worth noting that Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPUs have frequently sold for higher prices than this second-hand. Even at this price, this CPU represents good value to today’s PC gamers and upgraders.

Note that this CPU now boasts “AMD AM4 Anniversary Edition” branding, celebrating 10 years of AM4. These CPUs are newly manufactured and all ship with Carbice Ice Pads, giving users long-lasting performance.

This CPU comes bundled with a Carbice Ice Thermal Pad

Carbice’s Ice Pad is a next-generation carbon nanotube-based thermal interface material. This pad eliminates the disadvantages of thermal paste by offering structural stability and consistent thermal conductivity over time. It is a maintenance-free solution that requires no reapplications to maintain its performance. It just works.

By bundling this thermal pad, AMD is giving new Ryzen 7 5800X3D users a more premium experience. It gives users an easier installation expereince, and the promise of strong long-term performance.

Even today, at Computex 2026, AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X3D remains an exciting product. For AM4 users, this relaunch offers gamers the prospect of an affordable but effective upgrade path. By avoiding a new platform and costly DDR5 memory, gamers can access a powerful gaming processor with plenty of cache. Yes, it’s weaker than AMD’s newer X3D gaming CPUs, but it’s much better than any non-X3D CPU option on socket AM4.
