12GB AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE Leaks

AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 GRE could bring some much-needed competition to the mid-range GPU market

Sources at Benchlife have reportedly confirmed that AMD’s board partners are planning to mass produce a new RDNA 4 graphics card called the Radeon RX 9070 GRE. This new Radeon GPU will sit below AMD’s other Radeon RX 9070 series product, and feature 12GB of GDDR6 memory.

Currently, it is unknown if this new GRE series GPU will be exclusive to the Chinese GPU market. While AMD’s GRE branding originally meant “Golden Rabbit Edition”, it now means “Great Radeon Edition.”

With 12GB of VRAM, this new Navi 48-based RDNA 4 graphics card will feature a 192-bit memory bus. If the GPU uses the same GDDR6 memory as its larger counterparts, AMD’s 12GB GRE GPU will have 25% less memory bandwidth than a Radeon RX 9070 XT.

This new GRE graphics card will sit between AMD’s Radeon RX 9060 XT and RX 9070 (non-XT). Currently, the pricing and specification of this GPU are unknown.

If AMD continues to be aggressive with its GPU prices, its RX 9070 GRE could be incredibly popular amongst budget-oriented PC gaming enthusiasts. 12GB of VRAM is ample for playing most modern games, even at high resolutions.
