Aggressive pricing! Nvidia’s RTX 40 SUPER GPU pricing leaks

Nvidia’s RTX 4070 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 4080 SUPER GPU prices have leaked

Rumour has it that Nvidia will be revealing a trio of RTX 40 SUPER series GPUs at CES 2024, and alleged pricing for these GPUs have leaked. With Nvidia now teasing a new GPU reveal, we can be fairly certain that Nvidia’s RTX SUPER series rumours are true. RTX 4070 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 4080 SUPER GPUs are coming, and they are priced aggressively.

With their RTX 40 SUPER series, Nvidia are pricing their GPUs to offer gamers more value with their high-end GPU purchases. Nvidia’s RTX 4070 SUPER will offer near RTX 4070 Ti performance for $599. The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER will offer near RTX 4080 performance for $799. Finally, the RTX 4080 SUPER will reportedly cost $999, though a higher price has reportedly been considered.

If these prices are legitimate, AMD, Nvidia’s primary competitor, may need to radically rethink their high-end GPU pricing. This could lead to price cuts for AMD’s existing RDNA 3 products, which is great news for budget-conscious gamers.

RTX 40 SUPER Specifications and pricing

Like Nvidia’s older SUPER series GPUs, Nvidia’s new RTX 40 series models will feature upgraded specifications over their non-SUPER counterparts. All SUPER series GPU models will feature additional CUDA, RT, and Tensor cores. The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER reportedly features a 16GB memory upgrade. This gives the GPU 4GB of additional VRAM to utilise. The RTX 4080 SUPER will utilise faster GDDR6X memory.

Nvidia’s RTX 4070 SUPER reportedly features the largest upgrade of the RTX 40 SUPER series. This is due to its greatly increased shader counts. The GPU will have 20% more shaders than its predecessor. This makes the RTX 4070 SUPER closer to an RTX 4070 Ti than an RTX 4070 in raw compute terms.

Given their specifications and performance targets, Nvidia’s RTX 4070 SUPER and RTX 4070 Ti SUPER are essentially price-cut RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4080 graphics cards. Yes, performance and specifications are a little lower, but their prices are a lot lower. Nvidia are likely to EOL their original RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4080 after they launch their RTX 40 SUPER series.
