Nvidia teases new GeForce GPUs – The RTX 40 SUPER series is coming!

Nvidia teases their GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series with space-themed teaser

Nvidia are expected to launch new RTX 40 series graphics cards at CES 2024, and now Nvidia has officially started teasing these new graphics cards. While their teaser does not mention their planned GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series explicitly, the teaser clearly shows that new GPUs are incoming.

Nvidia are reportedly planning to reveal three GPUs at their CES 2024 “Special Address”. These three GPUs are Nvidia’s rumoured RTX 4070 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 4080 SUPER. Recent leaks have revealed that all three GPUs are releasing this month.

Like Nvidia’s older SUPER series GPUs, Nvidia’s new RTX 40 series models will feature upgraded specifications over their non-SUPER counterparts. All SUPER series GPU models will feature additional CUDA, RT, and Tensor cores. The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER reportedly features a 16GB memory upgrade. This gives the GPU 4GB of additional VRAM to utilise. The RTX 4080 SUPER will utilise faster GDDR6X memory.

Nvidia’s RTX 4070 SUPER reportedly features the largest upgrade of the RTX 40 SUPER series. This is due to its greatly increased shader counts. The GPU will have 20% more shaders than its predecessor. This makes the RTX 4070 SUPER closer to an RTX 4070 Ti than an RTX 4070 in raw compute terms.
