AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Ray Tracing Benchmark leaks

Leaked benchmark showcases’ RDNA 4’s boosted ray tracing performance

Thanks to All the Watts, we have had a glimpse at a 3DMARK Port Royal score for AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card. 3DMARK Port Royal was UL Benchmarks’ first official ray tracing benchmark, highlighting how much AMD’s ray tracing performance has improved with their RX 9070 XT.

With a score of 14,723 in 3DMARK Port Royal, AMD’s new RX 9070 XT bests graphics cards like AMD’s RX 7900 XT and Nvidia’s RTX 4070 Ti. Note that in previously leaked 3DMARK Time Spy results, AMD’s new RDNA 4 GPU also bested Nvidia’s RTX 4070 Ti.

Based on these leaked results, AMD’s RX 9070 Ti is slower than AMD’s RX 7900 XT in 3DMARK Time Spy and faster in 3DMARK Port Royal. This indicates that AMD has improved its ray tracing performance with RDNA 4. However, it remains to be seen how these improvements will impact real games. After all, 3DMARK Time Spy and Port Royal are early DX12 and Ray Tracing benchmarks, respectively. These benchmarks do not represent how this GPU performs in modern games. I would love to see a 3DMARK Speed Way score for AMD’s RX 9070 XT. Speedway is UL benchmarks’ newest gaming benchmark, and it makes use of the latest DX12 features and heavy ray tracing.
