AMD reportedly plans Radeon RX 7650 GRE GPU launch at CES

Another China-only GPU? AMD reportedly plans to launch Radeon RX 7650 GRE GPU in 2025

Rumour has it that AMD plans to launch a new RDNA 3 graphics card at or close to CES 2025. This new graphics card is the Radeon RX 7650 GRE, a GPU that likely sits between the Radeon RX 7600 XT and RX 7700 XT.

Typically, AMD’s GRE (Golden Rabbit Edition) GPUs are China-exclusive models. However, the RX 7900 GRE eventually had a worldwide release (review here). Currently, the specifications of this new GPU model are unknown, though it could fill a large gap in AMD’s RDNA 3 product lineup.

Perhaps this new graphics card will feature 10GB or 12GB of GDDR6 memory. This would make it a compelling product compared to AMD’s 8GB RX 7600 and Nvidia’s 8GB RTX 4060 Ti. If this GPOU sits between the RX 7600 XT and RX 7700 XT, it could feature around 40 Compute Units (CUs) and 2,560 stream processors.

Rumour has it that AMD plans to reveal their RDNA 4 graphics architecture at CES 2025. This would make any potential RX 7650 GRE reveal plans an odd decision from AMD. Even so, the launch of stronger budget-friendly graphics cards would undoubtedly be a good thing for AMD and the broader GPU market.
