AMD unleashes their 16GB Radeon RX 7600 XT at CES
AMD reveals their $329 Radeon RX 7600 XT at CES 2024
During their CES 2024 “Together We Advance AI” event, the company has revealed their new Radeon RX 7600 XT graphics card. This new GPU is designed for creatives and gamers, offering users a generous 16GB frame buffer. This GPU will ship in the US for $329, which is $60 more than their RX 7600 non-XT.
Like the RX 7600, the GPU’s XT incarnation will be based on AMD’s Navi 33 silicon. Since AMD’s Radeon RX 7600 already uses all of Navi 33’s available compute units, AMD’s new graphics card is left in a strange place performance-wise. Both CPUs have 32 Compute Units and 2048 stream processors. In a sense, AMD’s new XT model basically being an overclocked version of their non-XT original. Yes, the XT is also getting a memory upgrade to 16GB, but overall memory bandwidth remains unchanged.
Radeon RX 7600 XT Specifications
AMD’s new RX 7600 XT is designed to give gamers higher framerates at 1080p and 1440p. In games where larger memory pools have an impact, AMD’s new GPU can deliver large performance gains over its 8GB non-XT counterpart. In games where 8GB is adequate, the RX 7600 XT delivers more moderate performance gains.
With their new GPU model, AMD is mandating the use of DisplayPort 2.1. This was optional with the RX 7600. AMD are also increasing the power target of their new XT model to 195W.

AMD’s new RX 7600 XT will be more expensive than Nvidia’s RTX 4060 8GB and less expensive than Nvidia’s RTX 4060 Ti 8GB. At this time it is unclear how both GPUs will compare in gaming workloads, or how impactful AMD’s new GPU will be in the broader GPU market.
AMD’s RX 7600 XT will release globally on January 24th.
