AOC reveals their 200Hz 3440×1440 G-Sync HDR AG353UCG Gaming Monitor
On top of this display’s high resolution and refresh rate, the AGON AG353UCG support VESA’s DisplayHDR 1000 specification and uses a high-quality VA panel. Furthermore, the monitor is also said to cover 100% of the DCI-P3 colour space, which is no small feat for a modern gaming monitor.
While a FreeSyn 2 HDR version of this monitor is reportedly in the works, the AGON AG353UCG is a full-on Nvidia G-Sync panel with an integrated G-Sync module, boasting a 512-zone Full Array Local Dimming (FALD) backlight.
200Hz sounds very impressive for a 3440×1440 monitor, but this refresh rate comes at the cost of lower colour accuracy, either lowering the display from 10-bit colour to 8-bit colour of by using chroma sub-sampling. With 10-bit colour and 4:4:4 chroma, the AGON AG353UCG can operate at a maximum of 144Hz using DisplayPort 1.4. HDMI 2.0 is also supported at lower refresh rates.
Right now, AOC’s 35-inch AG353UCG 3440×1440 200Hz G-Sync HDR monitor is available to pre-order at Overclockers UK for £1,999. The monitor is currently set to release in June 2019 in limited quantities.
