Dying Light: The Following Released, lower system requirements

Dying Light: The Following expansion and Enhanced edition has been released, with the new expansion having lower system requirements than the original 2015 release, leaving us to expect that the new version of the game has had some graphical optimizations in the past year.

Dying Light is easily one of the best Zombie games ever created, offering a very satisfying parkour based movement system and impactful melee combat. Now this game has received a free update with the new enhanced edition, adding new NPC models, graphical and audio upgrades and improved AI.

Techland say that the new enhanced edition is more than just a game of the year edition, greatly improving the base game while asking for no money from the original purchasers of the game. Current owners of the game will need to pay for the new The Following Expansion, but at the price of £16.99 lovers of the original will consider this a small price to pay.

Dying Light will be getting free Dying Light: The Following Released, lower system requirements

One thing to note about he new expansion is that Steam currently lists lower required specifications on it than on the Original release, suggesting that the new areas in the game have been designed to run better on our current hardware. If you haven’t played Dying Light you really don’t have much of an excuse, especially given the fact that the game is one of the only new AAA titles on Steam to have it’s own Demo. Give it a try, you might be very satisfied.

Update – One of our writers have been playing the new The Following Expansion foe Dying light and reports performance that is very similar to the original game, but experiences none of the bugs or FPS drops that Dying Light had during it’s launch last year.

We believe that it is likely that Techland have changed their recommended GPU from a GPU suitable for playing the game at 1440p to one that is suitable for playing at 1080p in order to turn off less consumers.
