Expect to see Ultrawide 4K OLED monitors in 2025
34-inch and 39-inch ultrawide 4K monitors are launching in 2025
TFT Central has confirmed that LG plans to release a range of new ultrawide 4K OLED monitors in 2025. These screens will feature a resolution of 5120×2160, offering users higher levels of pixel density than today’s 3440×1440 displays.
With plans to release WOLED screens with 34-inch and 39-inch screen sizes, these screens will deliver pixel densities of around 165 PPI and 142 PPI, respectively. This is much higher than the 3440×1440 screens typically occupying this form factor. These screens will feature maximum refresh rates of 240Hz and peak brightness levels of 1300 nits.
LG will likely release these new screens under their UltraGear OLED brand, though these displays will be available to 3rd parties. This means we should expect to see 5120×2160 OLED monitors from most major monitor brands.

These new 4K Ultrawide OLED screens will be ideal for gaming workloads. After all, the extra width of these games is perfect for shooters and simulation titles, where a wider field of view is preferable. This high refresh rate and pixel count should also enable high levels of image quality. However, it should be noted that these screens have a greater than UHD/4K pixel count, which means that they will need to be paired with ultra-high-end GPUs to play demanding games at high framerates.
