Gears of War: Ultimate Edition receives Ambient Occlusion Patch

A new patch for Gears of War Ultimate Edition has been released, fixing the game’s Ambient Occlusion graphical effect, allowing it to run on AMD GPUs without artifacts or other visual glitches.

Right now it is recommended that gamers update the game to the latest patch as soon as they can, as users who don’t will have difficulty accessing the games multiplayer component.  To update the game users will have to go into the Windows Store, select downloads and then updates in order to start updating the game.

We have tested this new patch and have found that the game did not have visual artifacts anymore on out AMD R9 Fury X, but our game performance did not improve, so AMD gamers will have to continue to wait in order to get reasonable performance in this game.
