GPU Insanity – MSI RTX 5090 Lightning Z GPU Leaks
MSI’s RTX 5090 Lightning Z has leaked, and it is bonkers
MSI’s weather forecast predicted lightning at CES 2026, and now we know why. The company’s RTX 5090 Lightning Z GPU has leaked, with overclockers already setting new world records with it.
Yesterday, a world record 3DMARK Time Spy score was set by an overclocker called Dr.Antoine. Using an unknown MSI graphics card, a score of 53,207 was achieved. This was with an overclocked RTX 5090 GPU with reported GDDR7 memory speeds of 36 Gbps. Additionally, record Geekbench 5 and 3DMARK Port Royal scores were set by Lucky_n00b and oc_windforce, respectively, on HWBOT.
oc_windforce and Lucky_n00b released images of their RTX 5090 Lightning Z graphics cards. Since these GPUs were heavily overclocked, LN2 cooling was utilised. This means that we could not see the GPU’s stock cooling solution, only its PCB.
