Intel ARC BMG-G31 “Big Battlemage” GPU spotted in MESA driver update
Four high-end ARC Battlemage GPUs have been spotted in Linux’s MESA drivers
As part of the newest official MESA drivers, four entries have been spotted for an upcoming Intel ARC GPU design called “BMG-G31.” This GPU appears to be Intel’s “Big Battlemage” product, with four entries suggesting that Intel plans to launch four variations of this GPU. This could include ARC B770, B750, and new ARC PRO GPU models.
Intel reportedly plans to launch higher-end Battlemage graphics cards later this year. These GPUs should feature more VRAM and be more performant than Intel’s existing Battlemage B-series GPUs. A recent listing with PCI-SIG confirms that Intel is developing a GPU with 16x PCIe 5.0 lanes. This too suggests that Intel has a higher-end graphics card in development.

Based on leaked information, Intel’s planned ARC B770 graphics card reportedly features 32 Xe2 cores. This is 60% more cores than Intel’s ARC B580. This GPU is also likely to feature a larger 256-bit memory bus and 16GB of GDDR6 memory. This could make Intel’s new GPU a strong competitor to Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5070.

Intel’s reportedly planning to launch GPUs based on their BMG-G31 chip in Q4 2025. However, this launch could slip into 2026 if Intel needs more development time.
