Intel delivers official “gaming support” to its Big Battlemage ARC Pro B70 and B65 GPUs

Intel adds “Gaming Support” to its ARC PRO B70 and ARC PRO B65 GPUs with its newest ARC GPU drivers

With the release of its ARC Graphic Driver 32.0.101.8629 WHQL, Intel has given its ARC Pro B70 and ARC Pro B65 GPUs official “gaming support”. This means that users of Intel’s “Big Battlemage” GPUs will have access to regularly released gaming-oriented drivers.

Until now, Intel’s ARC Pro B70 and B65 graphics cards have been supported only by Intel’s ARC Pro graphics drivers. These drivers are released less frequently and focus on workstation performance.

It is currently unknown why Intel has made this change. Regardless, this change makes Intel’s newest ARC Pro GPUs better products for users who run a mixture of gaming and workstation applications on their systems. The ARC Pro B70 is too expensive to be considered as a gaming product. That said, its 32GB of memory makes it an excellent workstation GPU for VRAM-heavy users. If nothing else, it is good that ARC Pro users now have better gaming options.

Introducing Gaming Support for Intel Arc Pro B70, and Intel Arc Pro B65 Discrete GPUs.

Intel

Intel has not released any gaming-oriented products based on its “Big Battlemage” silicon. While it is possible that ARC Pro B70/B65 support could lay the groundwork for future gaming GPUs, it is also likely that Intel’s long-rumoured ARC B770 will never be released.

Will Intel ever release its ARC B770? Who knows… Unless memory prices decrease significantly, I’d expect Intel’s “Big Battlemage” GPU silicon to remain premium. If memory prices drop, a 16GB ARC B770 GPU could be competitive within the mid-range GPU market. That said, Intel’s first ARC Battlemage GPUs launched in late 2024. Is it now too late to get new ARC Battlemage gaming products?
