Intel officially confirms BMG-G31 “Big Battlemage” GPU with software update
ARC “Big Battlemage” evidence mounts as Intel’s XPU manager gains “BMG-G31” support
Intel cannot stop hinting at its ARC Battlemage “BMG-G31” graphics card. As part of a fresh XPU Manager update (via Haze2K1), Intel has officially confirmed that the software supports BMG-G31. This software is a GPU management and monitoring tool for data centers.
This GPU is a larger version of Intel’s ARC Battlemage B580 graphics card. It has more Xe cores and a larger memory bus. This is why the GPU is often referred to as “Big Battlemage” online. Intel is expected to officially unveil its ARC Battlemage GPUs in early 2026. This could be at CES 2026 or shortly after. We expect Intel to release both ARC B-series and ARC PRO series GPUs based on its BMG-G31 silicon.
Intel’s BMG-G31 GPU is reportedly 60% larger than the BMG-G21 (ARC B580). This should give Intel’s new ARC GPU significantly more gaming performance than its lower-end counterpart. With a 256-bit memory bus, this GPU will also support 16GB of GDDR6 memory. This GPU also reportedly supports PCIe 5.0 connectivity.
Intel is reportedly working on an ARC BMG-G31 GPU with a 300W TDP. If this is Intel’s ARC B770 GPU, it should feature 60% more Xe2 cores than a B580 and a TDP that’s almost 60% higher. If GPU performance scales similarly, we’d expect 60% more performance from Intel’s new ARC gaming flagship.

If Intel unveils high-end ARC B-series GPUs, it will intensify competition in the mid-range GPU market. That said, rising memory prices will make it hard to make this new GPU cost-effective. Even so, AMD and Nvidia will face similar challenges moving forward.
