Intel releases XeSS 3 with Multi-Frame Generation with its newest ARC drivers

Intel enables XeSS Frame Generation with its newest graphics driver

Intel’s newest ARC graphics driver, version 32.0.101.8425/32.0.101.8362 (WHQL), enabled support for its new Panther Lake CPUs and its integrated Xe3 graphics chip (see our Panther Lake Review here). This driver also enables support for Intel XeSS 3, which brings Multi-Frame Generation to Intel’s ARC GPU family for the first time.

With multi-frame generation, Intel can deliver smoother framerates by using AI-generated frames. Up to 4x frame generation is available, greatly improving image clarity. With XeSS 3, Multi-Frame Generation has come to integrated graphics for the first time. Better still, XeSS Multi-Frame Generation will not be exclusive to Intel’s newest GPUs. However, for now, MFG is only available with Panther Lake CPUs.

Hardware support

Intel’s new XeSS 3 feature will be available with all Intel ARC graphics cards with XMX units. This includes Intel’s ARC A-series and B-series discrete GPUs and Xe2 and Xe3-powered integrated graphics solutions. Support for GPUs outside of Intel’s Panther Lake product family is coming soon.

XeSS 3 supports Arc GPUs with XMX units, the Arc A family, Core Ultra 200 with Xe2 graphics, and the next Arc B with Xe3. Intel also plans support for older Xe1 parts. That move brings many frame generation to more than one hardware era.

XeSS Override

XeSS Multi-Frame Generation is now available on most XeSS 2 titles thanks to Intel’s Graphics Software override options. This allows users to override their game’s XeSS Frame Generation option to enable 3x or 4x frame generation, enabling smoother gameplay.
