Modder unlocks DLSS Multi Frame Generation on GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs
When Nvidia launched DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation (MFG), it was only available on RTX 50 series (Blackwell) graphics cards. Now, modders have unlocked the feature (DLSS MFG) on RTX 40 series GPUs, giving RTX 40 series GPU owners capabilities Nvidia never intended.
The mod, called “MFGAdaUnlock-RenoDx” on GitHub, adds Multi Frame Generation (3x, 4x and above) to RTX 40 series GPUs using a ReShade add-on. This mod arrives weeks after Nvidia’s DLSS 5 DLLs were unofficially patched to run on RTX 40 series GPUs. Like DLSS Multi Frame Generation, DLSS 5 has launched as an exclusive RTX 50 series feature. However, Nvidia has since confirmed that it plans to officially bring DLSS 5 to RTX 40 series GPUs.
With this new mod, gamers can now run DLSS Multi Frame Generation on RTX 40 series GPUs, something that was previously impossible. While Nvidia has not unveiled any plans to bring DLSS Multi Frame Generation to RTX 40 series GPUs, this mod proves that it is possible.
A ReShade addon that enables DLSS multi-frame generation (3x / 4x and above) on GeForce RTX 40-series cards, which NVIDIA ships gated to RTX 50-series only — and corrects the frame interpolation so the extra frames carry new motion instead of repeats.
Nothing on disk is modified. Every patch is applied to the mapped image at runtime and reverted when the addon unloads. No NVIDIA files are redistributed here.

When Nvidia launched its RTX 50 series GPUs, DLSS Multi Frame Generation was its killer feature. Now, it has been proven that the feature can work on older GeForce RTX graphics cards. While this mod may not be as stable or fast as an official implementation, the fact that it works at all is astounding. Over a few short weeks, GeForce fans have unlocked all of the RTX 50 series’ exclusive features on 40-series hardware.
While Nvidia briefly broke this DLSS mod with OTA DLSS update, modders quickly responded. With recent updates, this DLSS MFG mod now runs better than ever. Recent updates also add support for Vulkan-based games and improve frame pacing.
