MSI reveals their incredible MPG 321URX 4K 240Hz QD-OLED monitor at CES 2024

MSI moves to next-gen OLED technology with their 240Hz MPG 321URX 4K gaming monitor

At CES 2024, MSI have revealed their 31.5-inch MPG 321URX 4K OLED gaming monitor, which features a next-generation Quantum Dot OLED panel and several advanced add-ons.

With a 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms Gray-to-Gray response times, this OLED monitor is incredibly fast and responsive. Add-on its VESA Clear MR 13000 certification, and users can be sure that this screen features excellent display motion characteristics. This level of clear motion response will allow games to appear sharper in motion, which is great news for all gamers.

Like all modern OLED monitors, this screen is DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified. On top of this, this screen features Adaptive-Sync support, 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space, and a Delta E value of less than 2. This makes this monitor great for gaming, movie viewing, and productivity work where colour accuracy is important.

This display features both DisplayPort 1.4a and HDMI 2.1a inputs, with DisplayPort supporting up to 4K 240Hz. HDMI 2.1a inputs can deliver up to 4K 120Hz support with full 48 Gbps bandwidth, VRR support and ALLM (Automatic Low Latency Mode) support.

With this new screen, MSI are aiming to mitigate any potential burn-in risks with their latest OLED technologies. This includes their graphene-film and custom fanless heatsink for their new monitor. This screen also makes use of the MSI’s exclusive “OLED Care 2.0” technology. This technology enables “taskbar detection” and adjust the brightness of the boundaries between two images. These features allow MSI’s next-generation QD-OLED monitors to minimise the risk of image detection and dims your taskbar to prevent burn-in. With “Multi-Logo” detection, this screen can also dim logos and static elements that it detects to reduce burn-in risks.

These “OLED Care” features when combined with MSI’s heatsink solution all work together to prevent burn-in.

The MSI MPG 321URX features sharper text

One of the key features of the next-generation QD OLED panel that MSI are using is its increase text clarity. Thanks to sub-pixel arrangement improvements, text is more defined and images are sharper than before. These changes make Quantum Dot OLED screens more suitable for use in monitors. Text clarity is an incredibly important characteristic for any PC-oriented monitor. This makes MSI’s use of newer QD-OLED panels a excellent upgrade.

MSI plans to launch their new MPG 321URX 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor within the next few months. The price of this display is currently unknown.
