MSI unveils “world’s first” 27-inch WQHD OLED Penta Tandem Gaming Monitor, the MAG OLED 271QPX32
MSI plans to make high refresh rate OLED monitors more affordable with its MAG OLED 271QPX32 gaming monitor
At Computex 2026, MSI are upgrading their OLED monitor lineup with new display technologies, which include several “world’s first” achievements. One of these first is MSI’s MAG OLED 271QPX32 monitor, which is the “world’s first 27-inch WQHD 5-layer QD-OLED Penta Tandem gaming monitor”.
This new Quantum Dot OLED display is a 1440p screen which features a 320Hz maximum refresh rate. MSI says that this screen will be released in September with an MSRP of $549. This places the monitor on the more affordable side of the high-refresh-rate OLED spectrum.
With its Penta-Tandem QD-OLED panel, this monitor boasts +3-% light efficiency over older OLED screens. This results in higher brightness levels, lower power use, and less burn-in potential. This screen also features MSI’s “Dark Armor” coating, which results in 40% deeper blacks and 2.5x more scratch resistance than standard OLED monitors.
This new OLED screen has a DisplayHDR True Black 500 rating and boasts a peak brightness that’s 30% higher than its predecessor. That’s a peak brightness of 1300 nits. This screen also features a higher peak brightness for SDR content.
Solid upgrades over older OLED gaming monitors
Compared with conventional (older) 1440p OLED monitors, MSI’s new model is brighter, more scratch-resistant, and produces deeper blacks. It also features a higher refresh rate. Solid upgrades for PC gamers.
With its 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space and ΔE≤2 rating, this screen delivers strong colour characteristics for video/photo editing workloads. Not bad for a screen that also delivers excellent gaming credentials. Its ClearMR 15000 (motion clarity) rating also makes it a great choice for competitive gaming.
Nvidia users will be glad to know that this monitor is G-Sync compatible, and users of other GPUs will be glad to see VRR support.
As mentioned before, this monitor will be released this September with a target price of $549. This screen will replace older 280Hz WQHD monitors on the market, offering a higher refresh rate, newer screen technology, and other worthwhile upgrades.
