MSI reveals a quartet of custom GTX 2070 graphics cards
Starting with the MSI RTX 2070 Gaming Z, we can see that MSI uses a custom PCB and an extended air cooler to deliver low operating temperatures and decreased noise output. Cooling this card are twin 10cm TORX 3.0 cooling fans, which are designed to offering high levels of static pressure to ensure high levels of cooling efficiency at low fan speeds, providing low levels of noise output. This graphics card includes a 120MHz bump in boost clock speed when compared to Nvidia’s FOunders Edition model, which itself delivers an overclock of 90MHz over Nvidia’s reference design.Â
Below the Gaming X, we have the RTX 2070 DUKE OC, which uses three TORX 2.0 fans to deliver massive amounts of airflow over lengthy triple fan design. This model offers a factory overclock of 135MHz over Nvidia’s reference design, which is merely 45MHz over the company’s premium Founders Edition models. Â
 Â
MSI’s new RTX 2070 Armor is designed to go head-to-head with Nvidia’s Founders Edition design, offering a twin-fan cooler design which uses TORX 2.0 fans and supports RGB illumination with support for MSI’s Mystic Light technology. This model delivers a 30MHz increase in clock speeds over Nvidia’s FOunders Edition, promising a slight boost to performance as well as the GPU’s advanced lighting features.Â
At the bottom of the lineup os MSI’s RTX 2070 Aero graphics card, which is based on Nvidia’s reference design, offering the lowest clock speeds of the MSI RTX 2070 series, sitting below Nvidia’s Founders Edition model. This graphics card offers users a blower-style cooler that outputs hot air outside of the user’s PC chassis.Â
