New RDNA 3 GPUs – AMD preps Radeon RX 7400 and RX 7300 GPUs
AMD appears to be working on two new low-end RDNA 3 graphics cards
Thanks to the renowned hardware leaker @KOMACHI_ENSAKA, we now know about two potential new RDNA 3 based graphics cards from AMD. These new GPUs are the Radeon RX 7400 and RX 7300. These new Navi 33 based GPUs sit below the RX 7600. As such, we expect these new GPUs to cost under £200.
Sadly, the specifications of these new GPUs are unknown. That said, the fact that there isn’t a Radeon RX 7500 or RX 7500 XT suggests that these GPUs are much lower-end than AMD’s RX 7600. With this in mind, it is probable that these GPUs are RTX 3050 or Intel ARC A380 competitors.
Our guess is that these new GPUs will replace AMD’s Radeon RX 6400 and RX 6500 XT. Since these GPUs are Navi 33 based, they can have up to a 128-bit memory bus and 2048 Stream processors. Even so, we know that this GPU’s specifications will be lower than this maximum, as these specifications are used by both the Radeon RX 7600 and RX 7600 XT.
Potential RX 7400 and RX 7300 specifications
These new GPUs from AMD could feature 4GB of GDDR6 memory with a 64-bit or 128-bit memory bus, or 6GB of memory over a 96-bit memory bus. If AMD were aggressive, they could also offer 8GB of GDDR6 memory over a 128-bit memory bus. AMD’s RX 6400 only has 768 stream processors, 4GB of VRAM and a 64-bit memory bus. These low specs give AMD the potential to make their RX 7400 a huge upgrade over its predecessor.
Honestly, I would love to see AMD become aggressive with these new GPUs. Heightened low-end competition would be great for the PC gaming ecosystem. That said, the fact that neither of these new GPUs is called the RX 7500 or RX 7500 XT makes me doubt this possibility. That said, AMD could surprise us.
