Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 SUPER Specifications Leak

Nvidia pushes for higher clock speeds and more VRAM with its RTX 5080 SUPER

It looks like Nvidia is working on an enhanced “SUPER” variant of its GeForce RTX 5080. Kopite7kimi has unveiled specifications for Nvidia’s new GPU model, claiming that the GPU will feature 24GB of GDDR7 memory. That’s 50% more memory than a standard RTX 5080.

If these specifications are correct, Nvidia’s new SUPER series graphics card will be remarkably similar to today’s variant. Both GPUs reportedly feature 10,752 CUDA cores. This implies that Nvidia’s SUPER variant will gain additional performance through higher clock speeds. Given the overclocking headroom of Nvidia’s RTX 5080, this makes a lot of sense. This hypothesis is backed up by the higher TGP of Nvidia’s alleged SUPER GPU. Furthermore, the new GPU also boasts higher memory speeds.

In effect, Nvidia’s new RTX 5080 SUPER is an overclocked version of Nvidia’s existing RTX 5080 with 3GB GDDR7 memory chips. Today’s RTX 5080 uses 2GB GDDR7 memory chips, giving it just 16GB of VRAM.

Nvidia’s upgraded RTX 5080 variant would be highly sought after by creators and workstation users. Right now, if users want an RTX 50 series GPU with more than 16GB of VRAM, their only option is Nvidia’s 32GB RTX 5090. This factor alone would make Nvidia’s RTX 5080 SUPER popular for many high-end users.

Note that Kopite7kimi has not revealed Nvidia’s release plans for Nvidia’s RTX 5080 SUPER. We don’t expect this graphics card to release in the near future. That said, a Q4 or early 2026 launch seems likely.
