Nvidia officially unveils its GeForce RTX 5050 GPU

Nvidia officially unveils its $249 RTX 5050 graphics card

It’s official, Nvidia will be releasing its new GeForce RTX 5050 graphics card in the “second half of July” for $249. Based on Nvidia’s benchmarks, the GPU will deliver similar performance to the company’s last-generation RTX 4060, but give gamers the benefits of the RTX 50 series’ enhanced AI accelerators and features like DLSS Multi Frame Generation.

With an asking price of $249, Nvidia’s new XX50 series CPU will cost $50 less than an RTX 5060, making it the most affordable GPU in Nvidia’s RTX 50 series GPU lineup. This GPU is intended for the mass market, targeting gamers who enjoy eSports titles, and those who don’t want to invest in higher-end GPU models.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 performance data

Compared to their RTX 3050 GPU, Nvidia promises tremendous performance gains with its RTX 5050. However, it should be noted that the benchmarks below include data with DLSS Multi-Frame Generation enabled. Note that Nvidia’s RTX 3050 lacks support for DLSS Frame Generation, never mind Multi Frame Generation. This makes Nvidia’s performance data misleading, as like-for-like scenarios are not being compared in many instances. Regardless, Nvidia’s new RTX 5050 GPU still highlights notable performance gains over its RTX 30 series counterpart.

Sadly, Nvidia has not unveiled the UK pricing of its RTX 5050 graphics card. Given its US MSRP of $249, we expect the UK MSRP of this GPU to be around £219 (including VAT). Below are the specifications of Nvidia’s RTX 5050.
