Nvidia preps 16 GB and 8 GB RTX 5060 Ti models

Nvidia’s RTX 5060 Ti reportedly has a 180W TBP

According to a report from WCCFTECH, Nvidia plans to launch their RTX 5060 Ti in 16 GB and 8 GB flavours. The 16 GB model will reportedly launch in late March, while the 8 GB model will arrive in April.

Both GPU models will reportedly feature a 128-bit memory bus. Thanks to Nvidia’s adoption of GDDR7 memory, these GPUs should have much more memory bandwidth than Nvidia’s RTX 4060 Ti. With 28 Gbps GDDR7 modules, these GPUs will deliver 55% more bandwidth than an RTX 4060 Ti. This should help Nvidia’s new GPU push past its predecessor in memory-heavy workloads.

With a TBP of 180W, Nvidia’s RTX 5060 Ti will consume 15W more power than an RTX 4060 Ti 16GB. It has been claimed that Nvidia’s RTX 5060 series GPUs will be available with 8-pin or 16-pin GPU power connectors. Unlike Nvidia’s higher-end GPU models, both options should be available for RTX 5060-class products.

Why aren’t both the RTX 5060 Ti models launching on the same day? It’s probable that Nvidia will do this to ensure that early reviews are positive. After all, launching the 16 GB model first avoids complaints of “insufficiant VRAM.” Who wants to bet that the 8GB model won’t get sampled to many reviewers?

With a late March launch, Nvidia’s RTX 5060 Ti is likely to be revealed at the company’s GTC 2025 event.
