Nvidia reportedly releasing P102-100 mining GPUs

Rumour has it that Nvidia has plans to release a dedicated mining GPU that is based on their Pascal GP102 core design, offering a similar design to the companies existing P10X-100 series GPUs. This GPU will provide several custom specifications and a limited feature set to decrease the price of the card, making it unusable for gaming in the process.  

According to the cryptomining-blog, this P102-100 GPU will offer 5GB of GDDR5X memory, 3,200 CUDA cores and no display output options. Below is a leaked image of a leaked INNO3D model, which lacks an “optional” PCIe bracket. Below are the reported specifications of this GPU as well as its expected mining hashrates.

Judging from the specifications of this GPU, we can see that Nvidia has utilised a smaller memory bus and a lower number of total CUDA cores than their GTX 1080 Ti and Titan GPU designs. Nvidia could be making use of lower-binned GP102 chips in these new mining SKUs to improve their yields, or they are merely creating these chips to take further advantage of today’s mining craze, where GPUs pricing is inflated far beyond their usual MSRPs.
