Nvidia RTX 3000 series launch details leaked – A September launch is expected

Nvidia’s next-generation graphics cards are coming, bringing with them more performance, the company’s enhanced Ampere architecture and high-end models which will deliver performance levels which will surpass both next-generation consoles. 

My Drivers has reported that Nvidia is due to release its first Ampere-powered graphics cards in September and that the company will have further hardware launches in October and November. These releases will mostly come before the release of the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, allowing Nvidia to deliver next-generation performance to customers before the launch of these new gaming systems. 

Videocardz has also picked up on this rumour, pointing out that these launch timings closely match Turing’s 2018 release schedule. Right now, Nvidia’s RTX 3080 and 3080 Ti are expected to launch on September 17th, Nvidia’s RTX 3070 is expected in October and Nvidia’s RTX 3060 is expected in November. 

With a release in September, it is possible that Nvidia plans to reveal its Ampere architecture at Gamescom 2020, which will be hosted as an Online-Only event on August 27th. With this launch, Nvidia will likely focus on the success of DLSS 2.0, a feature which remains exclusive to RTX series products.
