Nvidia RTX 5090 pricing and release date leak

Will Nvidia’s RTX 5090 cost $2000? This leaker thinks so

Over on X, a new leak from @I_Leak_VN states that Nvidia’s upcoming RTX 5090 graphics card will launch with an eyewatering pricing of around $2000 and that the GPU will be released on January 20th 2025.

This new claim contradicts a previous leak from @kopite7kimi, who stated that they didn’t expect the RTX 5090 to cost “significantly more” than its predecessor. However, it should be noted that RTX 4090 GPUs rarely sell at their $1,599 MSRP, with most models having much higher pricing. If @kopite7kimi was referring to current RTX 4090 retail prices, a $2000 MSRP isn’t that outlandish for an RTX 5090.

I_Leak_VN also claimed that Nvidia’s RTX 5090 would feature a 32GB frame buffer. This lines up with existing rumours for Nvidia’s RTX 5090 GPU. A recent specifications leak for Nvidia’s RTX 5090 suggested that the GPU would have 21,760 CUDA cores, 32GB of GDDR7 memory, and a 600W TDP.

Is this RTX 5090 pricing leak legitimate? Who knows… I certainly hope that Nvidia’s RTX 5090 won’t cost that much. Regardless, Nvidia’s high-end GPU pricing has increased with every new generation. As such, a higher MSRP is expected for their RTX 5090. Given its apparent lack of competition from AMD and Intel, Nvidia has no reason to consider lower pricing.
