Nvidia is reportedly working on a GTX 1660 Ti/GTX 1160
Expreview (via Videocardz) has reported that Nvidia is working on a graphics card called the GTX 1660 Ti, which will split Nvidia’s current generation graphics lineup into GTX 11/16 series and RTX 20 series offerings, with the GTX 11/16 series offering “Turing Shaders” while the RTX 20 series provides support for RTX Ray Tracing.
Videocardz has reported that Nvidia won’t be releasing an RTX 2050 series graphics card, opting to release a TU116-based GTX 1160, which is thought to be the same GPU as Expreview’s GTX 1660 Ti. It is possible that Nvidia has not finalised the name of this graphics card, or that one or both sources are false.Â
If Expreview’s information is correct, Nvidia plans to release Turing-based graphics cards without the company’s RT cores, leaving Ray Tracing support as a high-end-only feature.Â
