Nvidia’s latest Hotfix driver fixes errors in Kepler and Turing graphics cards

Nvidia’s new Geforce Hotfix 466.74 driver is now available. It addresses an issue affecting users of Kepler and Turing based graphics cards, which has been suffering from a “DCP WATCHDOG VIOLATION error” in some systems. 

This issue is large enough for Nvidia to release a Hotfix driver for the bug, implying that this error has impacted a decent number of Geforce users. Strangely, this issue does not appear to affect Maxwell-based and Pascal-based graphics hardware, as the bug is said to impact “GeForce GTX 600/700/16 and GeForce RTX 20 series GPUs” exclusively. 

Turing and Kepler GPUs users should upgrade their drivers to Nvidia’s Geforce Hotfix 466.74 driver if they are currently facing any issues with their graphics cards. Users of Ampere, Maxwell and Pascal graphics cards do not need to update their drivers.

GeForce Hotfix display driver version 466.74 is based on our latest Game Ready Driver 466.63.

The hotfix addresses the following issue:

[Kepler/Turing]: DCP WATCHDOG VIOLATION error may occur on some systems with GeForce GTX 600/700/16 and GeForce RTX 20 series GPUs [3321668][3321735]
