Price hike incoming? PowerColor issues GPU price warning

PowerColor rep confirms incoming GPU price hikes

On Reddit, a PowerColor representative has confirmed that GPU prices will “kick up” at the end of this year. This seems to confirm reports that AMD plans to increase the price of its Radeon graphics cards due to rising memory costs.

PowerColorSteven has recommended that gamers “buy before the last week of the year” to avoid higher GPU prices. He also confirmed that Black Friday discounts will be available soon.

The world’s shortage of DRAM and NAND (Thanks AI…) will cause price increases for most electronic devices. It is currently unknown how much the price of GDDR6 memory will be affected by the ongoing shortage. As such, we do not know how much GPU prices are expected to rise. AI datacenter buildouts will not slow down anytime soon, which means today’s memory shortage will likely get worse before things get better.

The fact that price increases are being mentioned at all suggests that GPU price increases will be significant in 2026. Since GPU prices can fluctuate, small price increases often go unnoticed by consumers. This suggests that GPU prices will rise significantly in 2026.
