Gamer receives ASUS PRIME RTX 5070 Ti GPU days ahead of its official launch

A Reddit user named Qwertz012 (via Videocardz) has confirmed that they obtained an Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti GPU, specifically ASUS’ PRIME Gaming OC model, ahead of the GPU’s official launch. Like the Radeon RX 9070 XT we reported on yesterday, this GPU was shipped by a retailer ahead of Nvidia’s planned launch.

Unfortunately for this early RTX 5070 Ti owner, the graphics card is unusable without compatible GPU drivers. These drivers will not be released until January 20th, when the GPU will officially become available. Until then, this GPU will be unusable.

The owner of this RTX 5070 Ti admits that they “overpaid” for the graphics card on Reddit. They also said that “MSRP is in the dreamworld.” They also claimed that Nvidia’s RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is also overpriced in their region, making the cost of the RTX 5070 Ti worthwhile.

If recent reports are to be believed, Nvidia’s RTX 5070 Ti will quickly sell out on day 1. Retailers reportedly don’t have adequate stock to meet day-1 demand. Essentially, this will make the RTX 5070 Ti launch a repeat of Nvidia’s RTX 5090/5080 launch.

Will there be enough RTX 5070 Ti stock on day 1? We will find out on Thursday.
