Retailers confirm Limited MSRP pricing for AMD RX 9070 series GPUs

AMD’s RX 9070 series MSRP pricing will only apply to a limited number of graphics cards

Today, several retailers confirmed our reporting yesterday about AMD’s MSRP pricing for their Radeon RX 9070 series graphics cards. Simply put, AMD’s new GPUs will only be available at their MSRP price in limited quantities. After these GPUs sell, gamers can expect these GPU models to increase in price. This has now been confirmed by Overclockers UK and Inet.se.

Inet.se has stated that AMD’s MSRP pricing will “apply to a limited number of cards”. Furthermore, they have stated that MSRP prices will “only apply to first shipments of each GPU model.” As such, they “cannot offer it [GPUs from future shipments] at MSRP prices.”

How MSRP prices work

We have now learned how the recommended prices, also known as MSRP prices, work for the launch of the AMD Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT. We are not allowed to say exact prices ahead of the release, but simply put, they will apply to a limited number of cards.

NOTE!

The prices only apply to the first shipment of each model. For Sapphire and ASUS it will be just as usual, we have only received one shipment and you can buy it until it runs out, but with PowerColor it will be different.

Our second shipment from PowerColor is already waiting, and we cannot offer it at MSRP prices. This means that we will first sell the Reaper models at MSRP prices and the stock balance will tick down as usual until the first shipment is sold out. Then, with a certain delay, the stock will be replenished with new cards and we will then release the Reaper cards for order again – although not at MSRP prices.

If you receive an order with MSRP price even though the cards are sold out, we will of course give you that price, but unfortunately we have no way of continuing to sell cards at MSRP price after the first deliveries are sold out.

Overclockers UK is more transparent, confirming that they have 910 GPUs that they can sell at AMD’s MSRP price. After these GPUs sell out, MSRP AMD RX 9070 series GPUs will receive a “£30-60” price increase. This reflects the price of these graphics cards without supported pricing from AMD. These are the real prices of AMD’s newest GPUs, accounting for GPU costs from distributors and freight costs.

The good news is that there will be more MSRP GPU availability for AMD’s RDNA 4 GPU lineup than there was for any of Nvidia’s RTX 50 series GPU launches. Furthermore, non-MSRP GPU pricing will remain close to AMD’s MSRP. Remember, Overclockers UK states that pricing will increase by “£30-60” when MSRP GPUs become unavailable. That’s a small change when considering the cost of non-MSRP RTX 50 series GPUs.

AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 series will become available to purchase at 2 PM GMT today. You can read our review of AMD’s RX 9070 series GPUs here.
