Samsung Reveals their CRG9 5120×1440 Ultrawide FreeSync 2 HDR Display

Samsung is upping their ultra-wide monitor game, bringing to the table their 32:9 CRG9 gaming display, offering a 2x 1440p resolution of 5120×1440 and a refresh rate of 120Hz.

On top of these impressive resolution and refresh rate specs is the display’s FreeSync 2 HDR certification, as well as Samsung’s use of Quantum Dot panel and “outstanding local dimming” to deliver 1,000 nits of peak brightness and an “exceptionally wide range” of colour reproduction.

Sadly, Samsung has not listed this display’s full specifications, though it appears as if the CRG9 aims to meet the DisplayHDR 1000 standard, with FreeSync 2 support ensuring Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support as well as low-latency inputs, a must for PC gamers.

The screen itself is 49 inches in size, offering a 1,800mm screen curvature, making the screen ideal for both office use and by gamers (an ultra-wide 49-inch flat panel would not be comfortable to look at). Input-wise the screen offers two DisplayPort connections as well as a single HDMI port. USB 3.0 and headphone connectivity options are also available.
