SDC unveils crazy-fast 720Hz OLED monitor
LG’s 4th Gen OLED tech can be pushed all the way to 720Hz!
SDC has unveiled its planned “540-Meta” gaming display (via Videocardz), an OLED gaming monitor that can reportedly achieve refresh rates as high as 720Hz.
This new screen uses LG’s 4th Gen OLED technology, sporting a maximum resolution of 1440p and a screen size of 26.5 inches. This monitor also boasts a DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification and 0.03 ms response times. This screen reportedly operates at 540Hz at 1440p but can run as high as 720Hz in certain modes.
Currently, it is unknown what this 720Hz mode will be. Given LG’s support of “Dual mode” technology, it is likely that this screen can operate at 720Hz at a resolution of 720p. If that is the case, SDC’s 720Hz mode will have a significant resolution downside.

Currently available “Dual Mode” LG OLED monitors typically support maximum resolutions of 4K. At 4K, these screens usually operate at up to 240Hz, while a 1080p mode operates at higher refresh rates (typically 480Hz). 4K monitors have four times as many pixels as 1080p screens. Similarly, 1440p monitors have 4x as many pixels as a 720p screen. This is why we suspect that this new 1440p OLED screen supports 720Hz at 720p.
This new high refresh rate monitor from SDC reportedly costs around 150,000 yen. This translates to around $1,000 USD.
