XFX teases their new Magnetic Air series of GPUs

XFX’s new “Magnetic Air” graphics cards will be available tomorrow

XFX has showcased their new “Magnetic Air” series of GPUs. These new GPUs boast “toolless fan removal and replacement”, making GPU repairs and maintenance a breeze.

We expect these new graphics cards to be AMD Radeon RDNA 3 based RX 7000 series graphics cards. After all, neither AMD nor Nvidia revealed new GPUs at Computex. Beyond that, XFX has showed no signs of creating non-AMD GPUs. Unless AMD reveals new RDNA 4 GPUs later today, we can expect these new XFX GPUs to use Radeon RX 7000 series silicon.

One neat option that these new toolless fan GPUs offer is added customisability. XFX’s teaser below showcases one of the company’s white Magnetic Air GPUs with blue fans, suggesting that XFX will offer their customers replacement fan options with various colour schemes. Modders should also be able to deliver custom fan colour schemes if they want to paint a set of these removable XFX fans.

Honestly, it is a little strange that XFX are releasing new RDNA 3 GPUs this late in the RX 7000 series’ life cycle. Even so, these new fans are an interesting new differentiator for XFX. It is also a neat way for PC builders to customise their systems.
